A verb in Portuguese is just like English used as a word that represents an action or a state of being. (go, strike, travel, and exist are examples of verbs). A verb is the essential part of the predicate of a sentence. The grammatical forms of verbs include number, person, and tense.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
In Portuguese, the PRESENT TENSE is fairly simple. An ‘I’ verb always ends in ‘o’. The ‘you’, ‘he’, ‘she’ and ‘it’ verbs all end in ‘a’. The ‘we’ verbs end in ‘amos’. The ‘they’ verbs end in ‘am’.
In Portuguese, the PAST TENSE goes by a similar pattern, wherein the ‘you’, ‘he’, ‘she’, and ‘it’ verbs all have the same ending whilst the ‘I’, ‘we’ and ‘they’ verbs are each different.
In Portuguese, the FUTURE TENSE also goes by this pattern.
All verb endings also depend on whether the verbs are ‘AR’, ‘IR’, ‘ER’.
